Jet's Shared Cart
Shared Cart empowers users to take full advantage of Jet's value prop "The more you shop, the more you save".
In a nutshell, Jet has a pricing algorithm that drops prices in real-time as a user adds items to the cart. The more items you add, the more prices will drop.
Soon after launching Jet.com research show us that users were changing their shopping behaviors to take advantage of this proposition.

“I got into the habit of asking everyone around the house what they need before checking out.”
We knew that this was an opportunity worth exploring and so we asked ourselves: How can we make a digital version of a family shopping together at the supermarket?
To test user engagement we did a low-cost sharing products functionality that allows users not to share single items but all the products on their cart at once.

After seeing promising engagement we decided to build a truly shared cart functionality.
In this case, a host would create a cart and invite guests to add products. At checkout, the total amount could be paid by the host, charge different amounts to every participant depending on what they added or split even.

As a follow-up project, we also design a Messages App for iPhone that enables users to share a cart back and forth in the context of a conversation.
